My Philosophy of Education
I believe that an effective teacher does not simply regurgetate information, but instills
the concepts and necessary skills for life-long learning, as well as working with a team. The student will ultimately leave
the school system’ to join the rest of society as, hopefully, a contributing body. When this occurs, it is extremely
important to have the ability to self teach and effectively collaborate with others, in order to survive the problems and
issues that are occur during life. I believe this is necessary for the continued growth of humanity.
As an effective
teacher, my goal is to use the subject matter in my area and using all current teaching tools available to instill this concept.
I intend to personally model this using my professional experience in the real world, to incorporate current scientific
reseach as they are presented to me, and continuously seek new methods of processing and presentation with technology. My
lesson plans will allow flexibility for inquiry as well as directives toward specific goals. I will present students the fundamentals
of the subject with real world examples. From this, the student will learn the
material using real life concepts that will be related to experiences in the classroom. Finally,
as a teacher I will have the opportunity to utilize reflective teaching habits based on student needs and collaboration with
colleagues.
